Cahoots is an Internet company located in an office tower on the San Francisco Bay in Brisbane, CA. Collaborating with Wolberger Design and Nishimoto Studio, the 7,000 sq ft office renovation brings transitional properties found in virtual image space to the haptic presence of architectural space.

One enters into an orange tunnel and is stimulated by magnified sounds from footsteps and voices. This zone provides the first in a series of altered spaces, which create perceptual shifts throughout the office environment. Two adjacent conference rooms are bisected by this tunnel, and are perforated with colored lenses - operating as super high-resolution pixels.

Utilizing digitally plotted sail-making technologies, a central Soft Room is suspended at the center of the workstation area providing an informal meeting area and sound baffle. Fabricated with red welding curtain and white vinyl, this room provides a respite from the monochromatic larger space - once inside views of the exterior work environment glow red-hot.
